Team Building 5.30.15

Yesterday was our 2nd and final full day of training/team building before we head to Guatemala.  We just have the packing party and then bon voyage (wait lets practice some Espanol) tener un buen viaje a Guatemala!  We leave July 4th and plane tickets have been purchased - SO it's official!

In yesterday's meet-up, Patrick lead us in a lesson on discipleship. Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples." John 8:31  Then we headed to the park to learn about the tool Evangecube, hear some trip mates testimonies, break bread together or tortillas - Chipolte, decorate our name tags, team building games (creatively working together with determination in close and uncomfortable situations can lead to a successful outcome), a lesson on another tool of trackers by Annette, a lesson on Spiritual warfare from Marcia, and our regular 6 prayer conclusion (6 prayers: people of Guatemala, the people who went before us, the people going after us, our supporters, team unity/that we would be one in Christ & spiritual warfare.)

Overall, we got some great tools to use in the spiritual counseling center and bonded as a team.
Getting ready for our first team building exercise - think we can all fit on that tarp?

How can we all fit on that tarp together?

The human pretzel - working together to untangle to a circle
Name Tags we will use in Guatemala - Thanks Annette!

2015 Clinic Locations Announced!

It is always exciting to find out what part of the country we will be visiting. Last year we spent several days in the (very) hot lowlands area of Jutiapa. The year before that, we were in the beautiful lake country surrounding Lago Atitlán. This year, we will be in and around an area north and west of the capital in parts of the departments of Chimaltenango, El Quiche, and Guatemala, in the same general vicinity where we were on my first trip in 2012.

The first clinic of the week is planned to in Chiamira, which is a villiage or caserio closeby to the town of San Martín Jilotepeque. Iglesia Centroamericana Getsemani, in San Martin, will be our home for the next two nights.

Tuesday's clinic will be held at Iglesia C.A. Filadelfia, Zacualpa, within the department of El Quiche:

Afterwards, we will head back San Martin for the night, where we will hold Wednesday's clinic.

We will return to our home base in the capital Wednesday evening. Our fourth and final clinic of the week on Thursday will take place at Iglesia Lluvias de Gracia Sendero de vida in San Pedro Ayampuc:

Friday morning we will drive south to the city of Escuinta, where we will visit the Mana de Vida school. There we will see how God is working in the lives of at-risk children to give them a future of hope in Christ.

Please join us in prayer for each of these local churches and their communities. Pray for ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts to be healed in these places. Most of all, please pray we may be faithful servants, lifting up the name of Jesus, and making much of Him in all we say and do.
